Accessing Data
The district utilizes multiple self-service tools that are available to employees to access data at any time, from anywhere. Additional data tools are available to the public to explore enrollment trends and student success. Below are a list of data sources to explore.
The following glossary defines many key terms and provides useful formulas:

Student Success Dashboards (public)
The Chancellor for the California Community College's Vision 2030 calls upon community colleges to remove equity gaps in access, success and support. The dashboard below allows users to explore course success rates by department and course at either De Anza of Foothill College. As a district, we recognize that barriers to student success exist both outside and inside the college and that we cannot address all barriers in which a student faces, but can work towards addressing those within our purview in the classroom and on campus. Section level data, and the variation in outcomes across sections of the same course, can lead to important departmental discussions around strategies and approaches to narrowing our long-standing equity gaps. Randomized section level data is displayed below to display equity trends and variations in outcomes.
Questions to consider when viewing student success dashboards:
- What are the overall course success and retention rates? How do these rates vary by course or department?
- What is the overall equity gap? How does the equity gap vary by section or department?
- Which student ethnic group's course success rate tends to be above the college average? Which student ethnic group's course success rate tends to be below the college average?
- In what spaces could discussion occur to improve these rates through teaching and learning and support strategies? Who should be included in the discussion?
